RAWALPINDI:

Police have rescued a 16-year-old physically challenged boy who was abducted by the begging mafia nine months ago in the limits of New Town police station.

On Saturday, police arrested three kidnappers, including a woman, and rescued the child. Police said that the begging mafia brutally tortured the child.

The nails were placed in the legs of the abducted child and his earlobes were cut off with hot stitches. They injected drugs and broke his teeth and shaved his head.

Those who kidnapped the boy sold him to the begging mafia for Rs250,000.

The SDPO, along with SHO police station New Town Mirza Javed in a press conference held the other day that Darin Abbas was abducted in April this year.

The child was recovered due to constant contact of the police officers with the boy’s family, he added.

The arrested accused were identified as Mohammad Arshad, his wife Farida Bibi and accomplice Mohammad Safdar.

The accused will appear in court and physical remand will be obtained.
