Poco C40 is expected to launch on June 16 which is still a week away at this point but the brand’s Vietnam branch went ahead and announced the budget phone earlier today. It brings a 6.71-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution alongside a 13MP main camera and a 6,000 mAh battery with 18W charging.
The more interesting bit here is the chipset choice. Instead of going with a Qualcomm, MediaTek or Unisoc chip, Poco went with the JR510 chipset from JLQ Technology – a Shanghai-based semiconductor manufacturer.
The SoC is fabbed on the 11nm process and features an eight-core structure with four cores working at 2.0GHz and four more at 1.5GHz. It is said to offer performance in the same territory as the Snapdragon 450 and Helio G35.
