Timothée Chalamet’s Scene-Stealing Puffer Jacket Is On Sale Right Now

Timothée Chalamet is many things to many people: two time Academy Award-nominee, sweatpants-wearing Met Gala attendee, guy she definitely told you not to worry about. (Tough luck, pal.) Amidst all the accolades, it’s easy to forget Chalamet’s foremost credential: capital-O outerwear obsessive, with a penchant for Prada windbreakers, Saint Laurent shearlings, and, uh, “mid-layer garments” from Louis Vuitton.

Despite his endearingly twee boy-next-door persona (if you live next door to, like, a Juilliard dorm), Chalamet’s taste in jackets skews heavy on big-name designers. So when he steps out in a brand that doesn’t lay claim to an airy atelier in the 8th arrondissement, it’s usually worth noting. Which brings us to yesterday’s Timo spotting, featuring a scene-stealing cameo from all-American Eddie Bauer, the Bellevue-based sportswear operation famous for outfitting amatuer expeditioners across the Northeast.

Chalamet’s a native New Yorker, so dressing for the special kind of havoc transitional weather wreaks on your internal body temperature—to say nothing of your fits—is second nature. (Stars: they’re not quite like us.) It follows that the jacket in question has the range. His quilted bomber is from Eddie Bauer’s EBTek collection, a trailblazing line of performance gear the brand introduced in the late ‘90s. Its sleek exterior masks a heavy-duty down fill, but its zip-off sleeves will keep the air flowing when the commute home starts to feel like trudging through a sandstorm on Arrakis.

Best yet? Right now it happens to be on sale, and in a full range of sizes. Which means you don’t need the bone structure of a Roman bust—or the deep pockets of the lesser-known noble who commissioned it—to nab one for yourself. Spring might be coming, but the outerwear show goes on!
